A lot has been said and written about Aamir Khan‘s Mahabharata till yet but all of it was mere speculation. There were several reports which stated that Mr. Perfectionist has begun working on his dream project and that it will be made on a whopping budget of Rs. 1000 crore. However, neither Aamir nor anybody from his production house spoke anything about the same. But now we know that Mahabharata is happening for sure as Shah Rukh Khan has confirmed it in a recent interview.
While speaking to DNA, SRK revealed that Aamir will be playing Krishna in Mahabharata. “Krishna from Mahabharata is the one role I would have liked to do but it has already been taken up by Aamir so I will not be able to do that,” he said.
Earlier, it was being said that Aamir is planning to make Mahabharata as a seven-part web series but the latest reports suggest that he will now be adapting it for the big screen. As per sources, the magnum opus will be jointly produced by Aamir and Reliance Industries Limited head-honcho Mukesh Ambani.
Aamir backed out of Saare Jahaan Se Achha to work on Mahabharata
After Thugs Of Hindostan, Aamir’s next outing was supposed to be astronaut Rakesh Sharma’s biopic titled Saare Jahaan Se Achha but he chose to opt out of it as he only wants to focus on Mahabharata. The superstar convinced his good friend SRK to do Saare Jahaan Se Achha instead.
Aamir’s ouster from the film was confirmed by writer Anjum Rajabali who said, “Frankly, I was very keen that Aamir should do it. He liked the script, we discussed it a lot and we had a lot of hopes about it. Unfortunately, Aamir is consumed with a larger sort of project called Mahabharata.”
As Aamir is known for putting in his 100 percent in the films he does, we are sure that he will make Mahabharata once in a lifetime experience for the audience.
