Ayushmann Khurrana has been ruling the box office at the moment as both Andhadhun and Badhaai Ho are still running in the theatres. While Sriram Raghavan’s crime thriller is currently in its eighth week and is now looking to fold up, Amit Sharma’s family drama has been going strong for six weeks.
The failure of Aamir Khan starrer Thugs Of Hindostan gave a boost to the collections of Badhaai Ho and it has been simply unstoppable till yet. Also featuring Sanya Malhotra, Neena Gupta and Gajraj Rao, the film has grossed over Rs. 200 crore worldwide which is a huge achievement for any medium-budgeted film.
And now, Badhaai Ho has managed to do something which is unprecedented by all means. In its sixth-weekend, it has collected more than S.S. Rajamouli’s magnum-opus Baahubali 2 which was a rage and had set the box office on fire at the time of its release.
Ayushmann’s film has brought in a historic Rs. 3.9 crore in the sixth-weekend whereas the Prabhas starrer raked in approx Rs. 3 crore. In this day and age, when films do not last for more than two weeks in theatres, the run that Badhaai is having is exceptional.
By the end of the sixth-weekend, Badhaai Ho had collected Rs. 132.35 crore and will continue to mint more money till the arrival of Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar starrer 2.0.
