The shooting of Shah Rukh Khan starrer Zero came to a sudden halt after a fire broke out on the film’s sets in Film City, Mumbai on Thursday. Around four to five fire tenders were rushed to the spot to take control of the situation, reported Press Trust Of India (PTI).
Fortunately, everybody including SRK was rescued on time and did not sustain any injuries. Vinay Rathod, Deputy Commissioner of Police informed PTI that the fire was confined to electric wiring, electric installation, lights, shooting materials, ropes, and curtains. The reason for the fire has not been identified as yet.
With less than a month left for the release, the makers are looking to wrap up the film’s shoot as soon as possible. Featuring SRK as a dwarf named Bauua Singh, Zero has been making all the right noises, thus far. Both the trailer and the first song Mere Naam Tu have garnered positive responses from all corners.
The film reunites SRK with his Jab Tak Hai Jaan co-stars Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. The last directorial venture of Yash Chopra had hit the screens in 2012 and was much appreciated by the audience.
In Zero, Katrina will be seen as a snobbish superstar whereas Anushka is playing a scientist suffering from cerebral palsy. The film is a crucial one for King Khan as his last few releases have failed to create the desired impact. His last clean hit was Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express which released five years back. Also, SRK is yet to enter the coveted Rs. 300 crore club that already has two movies of Aamir Khan and three movies of Salman Khan.
Slated to release on December 21, the Aanand L Rai directorial is expected to end SRK’s dry run at the box office and bring him back in the game.
